the Furon® 1/4" UPRP Precision Pressure Regulator
GARDEN GROVE, CA - Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics (SGPPL)
Microelectronics Business today announced the introduction of the
Furon© 1/4" UPRP Precision Pressure Regulator in both manual and
pneumatic actuated versions.
The regulator is specifically designed to deliver aggressive pure
chemicals and DI water at precise predetermined levels while
maintaining constant downstream pressure. The regulator body is
constructed from 100% virgin injection molded High-Purity PFA,
while the diaphragms are made of PTFE/Fluoroloy© T to support
increased regulator life. This results in a High-Purity all
fluoropolymer wetted flow path capable of operating in temperatures
up to 194§ F (90§ C). Features include a PTFE isolation bellows
designed to protect the systems chemistry. Additionally the
pneumatically actuated version features a secondary diaphragm that
will protect the user's compressed air system.
Another aspect of the unique design is the elimination of any
"squeal or chatter" that usually accompanies low flow rates.
Standard on both versions is an integral leak detection port for
ease of monitoring in critical applications. All of the external
surfaces are non-metallic and the regulator is assembled and fully
tested and packaged in a class 100 clean room.
"The Furon© UPRP can be specified for any high-purity fluid
delivery system that is required in semiconductor, chemical
processing or pharmaceutical operations." stated, Craig Maki,

GARDEN GROVE, CA - July 10, 2003 - Saint-Gobain Performance
Plastics Microelectronics Business today launched their latest
addition to the semiconductor industries most extensive high-purity
valve line. The new Furon© Q-Valve is offered in 1/4", 1/2" and
3/4" sizes, and is available in manual, pneumatic and 1/4 turn
configurations. The Q-Valve was developed primarily to provide
end-users with a high performance, low cost solution that insures
reliable fluid delivery to critical process applications.
The Q-Valve's transparent, injection molded body combined with a
visual indication feature provides optimum visibility. Innovations
such as Saint-Gobain patented Rolling Diaphragm Technology enable
maximum flow ratings without sacrificing safety. An integrated base
with a "place and turn" feature simplifies installation of the
valve. The valve's actuator is fully serviceable without draining
the installation for easy field maintenance. The Primary
application is high-purity chemical delivery for chip makers;
however it is ideally suited for chemical processing or
pharmaceutical applications as well.

George Fisher, Inc. Combine Forces to Offer The New FuseBond™
System for Semiconductor Applications
GARDEN GROVE, CA - July 14, 2003 - Responding to industry needs for
an improved fusion technology for joining piping systems,
Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Microelectronics Business has
entered into an agreement with George Fisher, Inc. to provide the
PFA FuseBondT System. The new system combines Saint-Gobain
Performance Plastics Furon© PFA piping with George Fisher's IR
PlusT (Infrared) Joining Technology to provide the industry with a
weldable PFA piping and fusion package from one source. Effective
Sept. 1, 2003, George Fisher, Inc. will be responsible for sales
and marketing responsibilities for the Saint-Gobain Performance
Plastics PFA FuseBond products packaged with IR Plus fusion
technology.
The PFA FuseBond System features repeatable high-strength PFA
welds, low weld bead profile, and documentation of all welding
parameters. Ideally suited for high purity chemical and abrasive
slurry applications in the semiconductor market, the PFA FuseBond
System is offered in pipe, fittings, and a complete line of manual
and pneumatically actuated valves in sizes from 1/4-inch through
2-inch. Fittings include alignment marks at 45 degree angles for
perfect alignment.
"This sales and marketing alliance affords the industry a new
choice by providing our customers with a PFA weldable system
solution for high-purity fluid handling applications," said Greg
Sallee, Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Microelectronics Sales
and Marketing Manager. "The new PFA FuseBond System addresses
common industry problems of high variability in weld strength and
appearance by providing customers with a reliable system that
yields repeatable welds that are traceable."
The FuseBond System incorporates George Fisher's IR Plus fusion
joining technology, which uses IR radiant heat to fuse the pipe and
fitting together. This technology prevents the pipe from touching
the heating surface, resulting in a purer, non-contaminated
end-product and smaller uniform weld bead. The system incorporates
a computerized program which directs the operator at each step of
the joining process, including facing, heating, time, temperature,
cleaning, and joining distance, minimizing the chance of error and
providing greater repeatability. The system also provides a written
document of all welding parameters.
Offered with the new FuseBond package is George Fisher's nationally
accredited fusion training program. This comprehensive program
includes hands on fusion training and certification, and
theoretical and practical training in IR weld inspection.
